74% of civic complaints are never formally tracked — citizens use WhatsApp groups, phone calls, and paper forms with zero accountability, no ticket trail, and no follow-up.

The Build

How we approached it

4-role governance portal (Super Admin, Councillor, Citizen, Volunteer) with 7 modules: auto-ticketed grievance system (SVA-XXXXXX), public works tracker, QR-card volunteer management, charity portal, analytics dashboard, React Leaflet map with geo-tagged complaints, and real-time Socket.io notifications throughout.

What it does in production

Role-based access control across 4 user types. JWT auth with silent auto-refresh, bcrypt 12 rounds, rate limiting, 13+ Helmet headers. lowdb JSON database — architecture already prepared for MongoDB swap. Docker Compose for local dev.
